The Men’s Home Recovery Scholarship Program

100,000 lives are lost every year to alcoholism and drug addiction in the United States.

One of the key resources in combatting this crisis is people currently in recovery who have dedicated themselves to professions which help others to recover from alcoholism and addiction. To help in this effort, The Men’s Home of Alexandria, VA. is proud to inaugurate, The Men’s Home Recovery Scholarship. The scholarship is open to men and women in recovery who have chosen to help those still suffering from alcoholism and addiction. The Men’s Home Recovery Scholarship plans to distribute $30,000 in awards this year.

Starting January 11th, we will begin accepting applications for The Men’s Home Recovery Scholarship. Students with at least one year of continuous sobriety, a sponsor recommendation and who are currently enrolled in school, preferably in a field of study geared towards service to the recovery community are eligible to apply. Scholarships will range from $2,000 to $10,000.

Those interested may submit their applications by going to The Men’s Home website: https://themenshome.com/. The application deadline is May 2nd,2025. Throughout May and June finalists will go through a series of interviews. Board recommendations will be made in July, with final decisions and scholarship announcements slated for August 4th, 2025.

The Men’s Home is a men’s sober living facility located in Alexandria, VA providing a home-like environment for alcoholics sincere in their desire to recover from alcoholism. The home was founded in 1952 and is entirely self-supporting through contributions, plus rents received from its residents. It is not funded by any government, professional, or business organization. Policy and overall guidance are set by a ten-member volunteer Board of Trustees composed of long-term members of the local community who meet on a monthly basis.
