“Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.”
In August, the focus at The Men’s Home shifts toward Step 8—a step that demands more than just memory. It asks for honesty, ownership, and a new kind of courage. After looking inward in Steps 4 through 7, we now begin to face the outward consequences of the lives we’ve led—the people we’ve hurt, the trust we’ve broken, the damage we may have denied.
But Step 8 isn’t about rushing to fix everything overnight. It’s about building a foundation for real amends by first becoming willing. That willingness doesn’t always come easy. For many, it starts slowly—one name at a time, one truth at a time. We support each other through that process with honest conversations, shared experience, and a clear understanding: progress takes time, but accountability is non-negotiable.
At The Home, this step is done with care, with humility, and—always—with support.
