Each year, over 100,000 lives are lost in the United States due to alcoholism and drug addiction. One of the most powerful tools in addressing this crisis is the commitment of individuals in recovery who go on to help others find sobriety and healing.
To support this effort, The Men’s Home in Alexandria, VA is proud to continue its Recovery Scholarship Program in 2025. This initiative, now in its second year, provides direct financial assistance to individuals in recovery who are pursuing education and careers focused on service to the recovery community.
In 2025, The Men’s Home will once again award up to $30,000 in scholarships, with individual awards ranging from $2,000 to $10,000. The scholarship is open to both men and women who meet the following criteria:
- A minimum of one year of continuous sobriety
- A sponsor recommendation
- Current enrollment in an academic or training program, ideally in a field of service related to recovery
Applications open on January 11th, 2025, and will be accepted through May 1st, 2025. Interested applicants can apply directly at themenshome.com.
Finalists will be interviewed throughout May and June. Recommendations will be made by the Board in July, with final scholarship awards announced on August 4, 2025.
